Cheryl Benton Discusses Her Three Tomatoes Digital Media Platform and Her New Book Entitled Can You See Us Now?
Podcast Episode 138
On this podcast Cheryl Benton, aka the “head tomato,” founder and publisher of The Three Tomatoes website shares her views on some of the major pain points women 40 and over face such as “invisibility” in the workplace or social scene. She also explores the fun and highly relevant plot of her new novel entitled “Can You See Us Now? A Novel for Grownups.” The novel tells the story of three best friends who rebel against unsolicited AARP cards, hot flashes, bosses, becoming invisible, and the perceptions of what’s old. The novel explores love, romance, heartbreak, suspense, and the profound love of three best friends. Cheryl tells you what you can do when you start to feel “marginalized,” and covers fun topics such as where and how a woman can shop for clothes when she’s over 40 and not look like her teenage daughter! She gives listeners strategies for continuing to look good despite all of the “airbrushed and photo-shopped” media images of size zero to four female models that tend to depress women. Cheryl discusses the erroneous view and belief many advertisers continue to have of potential customers once they age out of the prized 25-49 year old demographic group. Via The Three Tomatoes digital media platform, Cheryl serves as chief cheerleader for smart, savvy women who want to live their lives fully at every age and every stage.
